About us
The Hythe Singers is a small and enthusiastic group of amateur singers, rehearsing Wednesday evenings (7.30–9.45pm, term time) at St. Jude’s Junior School in Englefield Green. We give three concerts a year.
We also sing choral evensong on an occasional basis, including recent residencies at St. David’s Cathedral in Wales, Chichester Cathedral, and at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
Our Repertoire
We perform a wide and varied repertoire — from arrangements of popular songs to music by classical composers spanning the 12th to the 21st century. Take a look at our prior concerts (and programmes) to get an idea of what we like to perform!
In rehearsals, we work hard — paying attention to detail and developing our vocal technique. But we also have fun (and tea and biscuits). We want everyone to enjoy singing together while achieving a high standard.
Beyond the Concert Hall
Alongside our regular concerts, we sing choral evensong on an occasional basis — recent highlights include All Saints Church, Marlow, a week’s residency at St. David’s Cathedral in Wales, and supporting services at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
We also support Runnymede Borough Council’s twin-town links with Bergisch Gladbach, Germany, including a joint 2024 performance with local choir Chor Lampenfieber.
A choir where every voice counts
We rehearse on Wednesday evenings during term time and give three concerts a year, performing everything from popular song arrangements to music spanning eight centuries.
